Membership

Membership of Privilege Club is open to any individual who is at least 18 years of age. Individual Privilege Club membership is not permitted for legal entities and or groups and associations.

Membership commences upon enrolment, when a personal mileage account is opened. To apply for membership, the Member must complete the application form and provide all mandatory details.

Members are initially enrolled as a Privilege Club member during which they are eligible to accrue mileage.

Membership is not transferable. A Member is not permitted to hold more than one account. In the cases where more than one account number has been assigned to the same Member, these accounts will be combined. All Transactions will be transferred to one single account with the exception of any duplicated bonuses or miles from the same activity. The merged account will then be inactivated.

Membership is at the sole discretion of Qatar Airways and may be suspended, cancelled or terminated at any time. The Member must return his or her Membership Card to Privilege Club without delay whenever requested by Privilege Club or any other party acting on its behalf.

Membership will automatically be terminated on the death of a Member, upon receipt of a death certificate. The Qmiles earned by that Member will automatically be cancelled. However Privilege Club may, at its own discretion, transfer Qmiles to the rightful heir to the estate, upon submission of the death certificate and an attested will or document indicating the rightful heir to the estate.

All Members enrolling online through qmiles.com or requesting online account management will receive a PIN code for personal identification. It is the Member's responsibility to ensure that the PIN code is not disclosed to unauthorised third parties. Qatar Airways will not be held liable for account misuse due to security negligence.

Name changes by a Member must be notified to Privilege Club in writing and accompanied by all relevant documentation as requested by Privilege Club.

Gold and Silver members may nominate a travel co-ordinator to have access to his or her membership account. That individual is not entitled to any membership benefits as a travel coordinator.

Membership Levels

Privilege Club has four main Membership Levels: Privilege Club, Burgundy, Silver and Gold.

A Member may be granted Gold, Silver or Burgundy membership depending on the number of Qpoints earned in each Membership Year.

Each Membership Level is identified by a personalised Membership Card that entitles the member to receive exclusive benefits and privileges. These benefits provided to a Member at each Membership Level may be changed at any time without notice

Membership Cards are non transferable and may only be used by the person whose name is printed on the card and for the purpose of identification only.

It is the Member's responsibility to inform Qatar Airways as soon as possible in the event of loss, theft or unauthorized use of their Privilege Club Membership Card.

Privilege Club may establish, upgrade or downgrade a Member's Membership Level at its sole discretion. Only Qpoints earned in the current Membership Year are considered when qualifying for a Membership Level and cannot be carried forward to any other Membership Year.

Earning Qpoints

Qpoints are the currency used by Qatar Airways for a Member to qualify for each Membership Level in Privilege Club and may only be earned from the commencement of membership. Family Members are not eligible to earn Qpoints

Qpoints are valid for one Membership Year and count towards your Membership Level in Privilege Club. On January 1 of each year, according to the number of Qpoints you have earned during the previous year, you will either move to another Membership Level or retain your existing one. You will then receive a new Membership Card and your Qpoints balance will be reset to zero.

The number of Qpoints credited depends on the Programme conditions valid at the time of utilisation of the service. In the case of Retroactive Qpoints credit requests, Qpoints will be credited to the Member's account in the corresponding calendar year when the flight Transaction took place and not when the request is made.

Members will earn Qpoints for Qualifying Flights according to the class of service and the regions travelling to and from. Partner Transactions are not eligible for Qpoints accrual.

Qpoints can only be earned on Qatar Airways operated flights.

Qatar Airways may, from time to time, modify the rules for earning Qpoints at its sole discretion.

Earning Qmiles

All Qmiles earned in the Programme are valid for a period of five (5) calendar years. After this period, miles earned but not used will be deleted from the Members' account on December 31st of the fifth year. Privilege Club reserves its rights to change the mileage expiration policy without prior notice.

Members shall earn Qmiles from the date of enrolment in Privilege Club on Qatar Airways flights and with Programme Partners as advised from time to time. Transactions undertaken before the date of enrolment are not eligible for Qmiles.

It is the Members responsibility to ensure that the Membership number is provided at the time of making a reservation and while checking in or utilising the services of Qatar Airways or any Programme Partners.

Qmiles cannot be earned in more than one loyalty Programme for any transaction. Privilege Club reserves the right to deduct any Qmiles/benefits earned from duplicate transactions in another loyalty programme.

Qatar Airways and any Programme Partners may place restrictions on mileage accrual. It is the responsibility of the Member to be familiar with any such restrictions. Qatar Airways may not be held responsible for any Programme Partner not crediting Qmiles to a Members account.

Flights

Qmiles can only be earned on Qatar Airways and Programme Partner's airline operated flights. Qmiles cannot be earned on code-share and marketing flights operated by airlines that are not Programme Partners.

The number of Qmiles credited depends on:
a. Actual miles flown: Distance between the point of departure and the destination indicated in the ticket. A minimum mileage guarantee may apply according to Qatar Airways and Partner Airlines Accrual rules.
b. Base Miles: calculated based upon the actual flown miles multiplied by a factor according to the members' level.
- Privilege Club Members will earn Qmiles based on the booking class purchased.
- Family Members of Gold, Silver and Burgundy Members will earn 100%, 75% and 50% of the flown miles respectively.
c. Cabin Bonus: Base miles are multiplied by the booking class factor according to the service class paid and indicated on the ticket. Qmiles will be earned according to the class of travel booked, paid for and ticketed, not the class of travel actually flown. Bonus is calculated over the Base Miles.
d. Tier Bonus Miles: Additional Qmiles will be awarded according to the Membership Level of the member at the time of the flight transaction. The Tier Bonus is calculated over the Base Miles.

Tier and Cabin Bonuses are considered as independent bonuses. Therefore they will be calculated separately over the Base Miles. Bonus miles will not be calculated on top of other bonuses.

No Qmiles shall be credited in the following cases:
a. Qatar Airways or partner airline Award Tickets.
b. Tickets used on airlines not partners in the Programme.
c. Lost, expired or tickets with any type of discount over published rates. This includes free transportation tickets, charter flights, complimentary services, agent and industry discounts.
d. No miles shall be given for cancelled flights, delayed and endorsed to another airline when circumstances are beyond the airlines control.
e. Members who travel with a free ticket or are beneficiaries of an award or free service.

Mileage can only be accumulated once per flight per Member, regardless of the number of seats purchased. Mileage will be credited only to the Member who has travelled on the flight.

A Member will be credited mileage for cancelled flights when re-accommodated on a non Programme Partner airline provided that the Member already had a ticket issued for the cancelled flight and the flight is cancelled within 10 hours of the scheduled departure time. However, such crediting will not occur if the cancellation is due to circumstances beyond the control of Qatar Airways, including but not limited to weather, earthquake, fire, labour stoppages or strikes, civil unrest or closed airports.

Partners

All Members can also earn Qmiles when using the services of hotel, car rental, financial and travel partners. For a full list of our worldwide partners, visit our website at www.qmiles.com.

Only partner Transactions qualifying for mileage accrual will be eligible for earning Qmiles.

Family Programme

Burgundy, Silver and Gold members may nominate up to nine Family Members to pool their mileage to the main Member's account. Family Members are entitled to accrue Qmiles on Qatar Airways and with all Programme Partners.

Only spouse and children who are at least two years of age may be nominated as Family Members. Once nominated as a Family Member, such Family Members cannot be replaced for a period of 24 months.

Upon nomination, each Family Member will receive their own Membership Card. It is the Member's responsibility to ensure that the Family membership number is provided at the time of making a reservation and while checking in or utilising the services of Qatar Airways or any Programme Partners.

Family Members will earn mileage based on the Membership Level of the main Member at the time of the flight transaction. The higher the Membership Level in Privilege Club, the more Qmiles the Family Members will earn. Families of Gold members will earn 100% of the miles flown, families of Silver members will earn 75% of the miles flown and families of Burgundy members will earn 50% of the miles flown when travelling on Qatar Airways or any partner airline.

If a Burgundy Member downgrades to Privilege Club Level, the Family Member will not be able to earn Qmiles on the Member's behalf, until the Member re-qualifies for Burgundy Membership Level. If any of the Family Members aged 18 years or above should wish to become individual Privilege Club members, they can delink from the main Member's account.

To de-link, the Member can log into his account at www.qmiles.com and de-link family members aged 18 years or above from the "Family Programme" section by just clicking on the De-link button. Member can also complete the De-link request form and fax it to (+974) 462 6313 or email it to membersvc@qmiles.com. This can also be requested by the Family Member aged 18 years or above. To download the De-link request form, click here.

The Qmiles earned prior to de-linking will remain in main Member's account. Family members can continue using their existing membership number and membership card for them to start earning Qmiles whenever they travel with Qatar Airways.

All correspondence will be addressed to the main Member.

Privilege Club may accept or reject any application for Family Members and to cancel any Member's account in the event of failure to comply with these terms and conditions
